Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eta Lambda Chapter, based in Atlanta, GA, is one of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s oldest chapters. Since 1920, the chapter members have worked to enhance their community through educational and social justice initiatives.

Challenge:

Serving as an advocate and voice for Black Atlantans, the members of the Eta Lambda Chapter expressed their concern about adequately telling the story of their chapter and their work in the community. Additionally, they desired a streamlined approach to their online chapter operations, including membership management, financial affairs, and events management.

Solution:

We worked with a committee of media professionals within the organization to develop an approach to building a website that satisfied their need to engage their stakeholders internally and externally. Within the website, we developed easy-to-follow workflows for internal members to manage their affairs while employing that same ease of use for the public. The internal workflow also included developing a back-end system that allows the chapter to manage internal matters such as event registration, sharing private information, collecting payments, and sending invoices. With the platform’s development, Eta Lambda Chapter was able to merge three different processes into one robust experience for their members.
