Black Legacy Advancement Coalition

Brand-Forward Website Design & Cultural Positioning

Black Legacy Advancement Coalition (B.L.A.C)

The Black Legacy Advancement Coalition (B.L.A.C.) is a movement-driven coalition formed in response to a historic cultural reckoning. Born out of the dual pandemics of COVID-19 and anti-Black racism in 2020, the Coalition exists to convene Black Americans and their allies to move from protest to reform—shifting from outrage to sustainable, systemic action.

Darrell Robinson Media (DRM) partnered with B.L.A.C. to design and develop a website that could carry the emotional weight of its origin story while positioning the Coalition as strategic, credible, and built for generational impact.

CHALLENGE:

The Coalition was not just launching an organization. It was articulating a movement.

The website needed to:

  • Honor the gravity of 2020 and the lived experiences that birthed the Coalition

  • Clearly communicate mission, vision, and long-term strategy

  • Invite participation from both Black leaders and committed allies

  • Balance emotion, clarity, and structure

  • Provide a digital foundation for sustained growth

This required more than aesthetic design. It required thoughtful positioning.

APPROACH:

1. Narrative Framing & Message Architecture
We structured the website around three core themes:

  • Reckoning

  • Reform

  • Legacy

Rather than presenting the Coalition as reactionary, we positioned it as visionary, anchored in healing, strategy, and generational commitment. Messaging was refined to:

  • Clarify the origin story without sensationalism

  • Emphasize systemic reform over symbolic response

  • Highlight community, collaboration, and skill-based contribution

  • Establish long-term credibility

The tone balances urgency with steadiness.

2. Movement-to-Action Structure

We designed the site architecture to move visitors through a clear journey:

  1. Understand the context

  2. Connect with the mission

  3. Identify their role

  4. Take action

Clear pathways were built for engagement, participation, and contribution. The site does not simply inform. It activates.

3. Brand-Forward WordPress Development

The website was built with:

  • Strong typography and visual hierarchy
  • Clean, modern layout
  • Responsive design across devices
  • Performance optimization
  • Accessibility best practices

The visual system reinforces clarity and seriousness of purpose while remaining culturally grounded and community-centered.

Key Deliverables

  • Narrative refinement and messaging structure

  • Custom WordPress website build

  • Initiative and engagement page development

  • Strategic calls-to-action integration

  • Performance and accessibility review

  • Post-launch support

RESULTS:

The new B.L.A.C. website now:

  • Clearly communicates its origin and purpose

  • Positions the Coalition as organized and strategic

  • Creates structured pathways for involvement

  • Serves as a scalable digital foundation for long-term movement building

The platform reflects both the emotional truth of its founding and the strategic clarity of its future.

STRATEGIC IMPACT:

Movements require more than passion. They require infrastructure.

This project reflects DRM’s approach: clarify the narrative, structure the journey, and build a platform capable of sustaining impact for decades to come.

Built for healing. Built for reform. Built for legacy.
